The Dabus Swamps

Hozo – The language of the swamps. Large, inhospitable swamps extend on both sides of the upper Dabus. The edges of these swamps are the home of the Hozo speakers. Their culture is adapted to life in this periodically flooded landscape. However, their legends and stories also tell of their displacement from the fertile land into the hostile swamps by the invading Oromo.
